Review Dermalogica Precleanse

My cleansing routine is really important to me, especially in the evening. I love it when my skin feels clean and fresh. Because of my dry skin I have to be carefull not to strip my natural oils too much.

When I wear make-up during the day I start with a cotton pad soaked in Bioderma Micellaire Solution (see my VS review on it) to remove the heavy face and eye make-up, this is my first step. Off course the make-up hasn't been fully removed, this is where the next product comes in... I got to know this product last year in March, when I had a Dermalogica face mapping done. I purchased some trial products and this one has sticked with me ever since! I'm on my second bottle now, which is almost empty, and will definitely order a new one - I adore this product!!

Dermalogica Precleanse is a light weight Olive and Apricot Kernel-based cleansing oil, fortified with Kukui Nut, Borage Seed and Rice Bran oils, that gently liquefies sebum and oil-based debris from the skin's surface, The hydrophilic (water-loving) formula enables Dermalogica PreCleanse and oil-based debris to be readily rinsed away without leaving behind any grease residue. Dissolve oil-based make up, sebum, sunscreen and environmental pollutants from skin’s surface, enabling skin to be thoroughly cleansed. Removes oil without compromising skin’s natural barrier lipids or clogging pores. Fortified with conditioning essential fatty acids to help smooth, calm and nourish skin.

The Precleanse is intented to be used before you start your normal cleansing routine (thinking of cream/gel cleanser, followed by toner). I use it after I've removed my make-up or when I'm not wearing make-up I use this as my first step. You can also use this to remove all your make-up, I've tried it but the citrus in it irritated my eyes a bit when I removed my eye make-up. Now put a small amount of the product in your hand and rub/massage it into your face in circular motions, afterwards put a bit of water into your hands and rub/massage again, you'll get a milky emulsion. Then, rinse and your first step has ended...

When applying the product you'll immediately smell the divine scent, some kind of citrus, I absolutely love it. While massaging it, you'll feel your skin warming up a bit. I usually let it sink in a few minutes before I continue with the water. If you have dehydrated skin like me, this is a good idea - otherwise it's not really necessary. And then after massaging with water and removing it my skin already feels a whole lot fresher. I then use a milk cleanser for deeper cleansing and to add a moisturizing effect.

This product can be used by all skin conditions, I already recommend it for dry skin but I can imagine it would work on anyone. You can purchase this product through beauty salons but that's expensive, I order mine from http://jerseybeautycompany.co.uk/ at the price of 25-26euro for 150ml and this bottle lasts me half a year with daily use. It's not cheap but I haven't come across an oil cleanser that I love more...
