Review GOSH Velvet Touch eyeliner in Truly Brown

GOSH is one of those brands which I'm not keen on & never will be... A lot of their products are rubbish and just don't work the way they should like their eyeshadow, primers, brushes... But however they do have a few good products with one of them being their eyeliner - it surely deserves a review as I enjoy using it a lot!
GOSH VELVET TOUCH EYELINER belongs to a new generation of semi-permanent make-up. It does not smudge. It is 100% waterproof, long lasting, and resists almost anything. It has excellent coverage and a smooth, soft quality. GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liner is soft and easy to apply. It contains vitamin-E and Jojoba Oil to care for your delicate skin, however it does not contain animal or mineral oils. It is also fragrance-free to prevent allergic reactions.

INSIDER TIP: It can easily be spread out with a brush or an applicator immediately after applying, but once it sets it will not come off or smudge. Warning: May not be used on the moist edge inside the lower lashes. Must be removed with waterproof eye-makeup remover.
This eyeliner is available in a great range of colours, which is enjoyable for a drugstore brand and are priced between 6-7euros. I opted for the colour "Truly Brown" as I'm a big fan of brown liners. Black often looks too harsh on me, whereas brown can be subtle and more suitable for romantic daytime looks. The liner comes with a dop, easy to take off - just make sure you don't lose it!
The pen is indeed very smooth and applies easily, like a dream. After one stroke you already have a good coverage and an intense colour. Personally I love this colour, it's not your typical brown... Most brown pens have a red undertone in them, this one does not - it's very neutral (I used the pen in this EOTD). GOSH claims this pen is 100% waterproof but it is not, sure - you'll be fine in the rain for minutes but I wouldn't go swimming with it... The colour can be spread out or left as a line, that's personal preference. A tiny disadvantage is that because of its softness, then pen needs regular sharpening which means you'll be going through the product a bit faster. At the end of the day the liner is still there and hasn't been smudged, just the way I want it to be! And in case you're wondering it didn't irritate my eyes at all.

The goods: lovely colour & a wide range of colours, stays put, good price, doesn't smudge, doesn't irritate, soft pen, smooth easy application

The bads: is not 100% waterproof, needs regular sharpening

To sum it up, I consider this to be one of GOSH's star products... There are a few minor discomforts with this eyeliner but nothing too serious. I regularly use mine & will definitely repurchase a few more colours in the future - most likely when they hit sale! If you're looking for a good soft smooth liner, look into this one and you won't be disappointed!

Product Praise Budget Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds eye liner

I'm not a big eyeliner fan and I don't wear it daily - I just prefer a more clean natural eye. And, honestly, a whole eyelined eye doesn't suit me at all, it makes me look a bit spooky like I'm from another planet or something like that... So I only wear a bit of eyeliner on my lower lashline, depending on my mood. Nevertheless I do have a good amount of eyeliners in my stash and this one, Glimmerstick Diamonds by Avon is -by far- my favourite of all... I bet you're all curious why??

Each eyeliner comes in a different box with the colour written on the outside. The pens have their colour on the bottom lined & written which makes it easier to grab the one you need. I have 4 of the 6 available colours which are (top to bottom): black ice, brown sugar, smokey diamond (grey), sugar plum. The other 2 colours which I don't have are emerald glow (a green) and twilight sparkle (a blue). They are called "Diamonds" because there are some tiny shimmers in it that are perfect for everyday use and leave the colour softer. If the liners are in discount you pay around 3-4euros for one, a price that I love!

Gorgeously soft and creamy pencil adds a sparkling line to your eyes.
Glides on smoothly, won’t pull or tug skin.

This eyeliner isn't one that needs sharpening, if you don't have enough product you just need to twist it a little bit to get more out of it. If you have too much you can just twist it back - really convenient. Tiny downside is that after having used the tip a lot it doesn't stay pointy and you get a more round tip to work with. This isn't difficult because the pencils are very small and leave a fine line which can be build into a more intense bigger one if you prefer that.

Left to right: black ice, brown sugar, smokey diamond, sugar plum.
Black ice is the one from above with the pointy tip, the other ones are rounded tips.
Click on the pictures for a close-up where you can see the shimmer a bit better.

I mostly use Brown Sugar and Smokey Diamond but if I have to pick one I would go for Brown Sugar, I'm just a fan of brown eyeliners - black often looks too harsh for everyday. These pencils give a fine line and are easy in usage. After a working day they are still as present as before. The tiny shimmers aren't too much, it really depends on the lighting. Overall a very nice product without any downsides, will continue to purchase this - so please Avon, don't discontinue this!

Review Avon Supershock eyeliner - bronze

A topic I hadn't covered yet - oh no shame on me - how could I! But here I am, totally making it up to you and talking a bit about eyeliner... Personally, I don't always wear eyeliner - not a specific reason for it now that I think about it, I usually forget to apply it. When putting it on I have to be quite carefull because of my contacts, maybe that's a partial reason to it.

I bought this Avon Supershock (gel) eyeliner in bronze 2 months ago when I saw it being promoted in a catalogue for 5 or 6euros, it's a gorgeous golden brown. I did some research online and learned that it was often recommended, which was enough for me to order.

It looks like any other eyeliner, though it appears to be a bit thicker. At the end of the pencil are silver letters such as the brand, name and lasting time (24months). Looks fancy enough for me.

When I first used this eyeliner I was a bit shocked, it was very creamy and very pigmented. The swatch on my hand are 2 light strokes or 1 heavy stroke. The colour is gorgeous, brown with golden sparkles in it that aren't too much for a daily look... Sadly enough, the sparkles don't get picked up by the camera, check this look for a more accurate view of this eyeliner. It applies easily and stays put all day long without any trouble, I love that it doesn't fade.

I've already had to sharpen the pencil a few times and this is the downside to it: because it is creamy it's difficult to get a sharp "pencil" end to it and this dissapears after 2 days of usage. Then you get an end like in the picture above, which is quite thick and trickier to apply. I prefer a thin line and that's not easy with such a big end.

The goods: beautifull colour, creamy, pigmented, price is ok

The bads: hard to keep in proper shape for a thin line, tricky to apply

Apart from the tiny downside I'm a fan of this eyeliner, I love the colour a lot. I'll surely be looking for a dupe when this one will start to run out. This eyeliner is also available in black and silver, which I recently bought (but haven't used just yet!). If you use a similar colour to this eyeliner, do let me know...
