Review Clarins Water Comfort One-step Cleanser
Most of the time I try to cleanse my skin as thouroughly as possible. But sometimes I can be just lazy or so tired out that I can't bring myself to do that little effort. For these moments I'm a fan of a one-step cleanser as it provides a very quick cleanse with a cotton pad. Using this on a daily basis however isn't recommendable as it doesn't cleanse as well as a cream cleanser for instance and would lead to clogged pores. Clarins is a brand that I always find somewhat appealing and since I've heard some good things about this cleanser, why not try it?
The packaging is simple but sleek: see-through with the typical red Clarins lettering. The top has the "C" engraved and can easily be removed. The product contains 200ml and is priced around 18euros - available in several stores as well as online.
When opening and removing the top you immediately smell the peachy fragrance, an enjoyable scent but at the same time very strong - note: the water has a peachy colour as well. Fragrance as an ingredient is placed in the middle of the list, so normally it shouldn't be that strongly present. It states it removes light make-up and that's absolutely true, it can deal with a tinted moisturizer and a blush but it cannot deal with mascara, eye makeup, foundation etc. Therefore I first use my Bioderma to remove my make-up - if I'm wearing any- and then I follow with a cotton pad of this one for the actual cleanse. It removes impurties and dirt without a problem - if your cotton pad is very dirty afterwards soak another one and do it again. After cleansing my skin feels soft and clean, but it often also left it dry. The product didn't irritate my skin, but I can imagine it will do others due to the heavy fragrance.
The goods: packaging, lovely scent, one-step cleansing works fine, can remove light makeup
The bads: too heavily fragranced (irritation), can leave skin dry, cannot remove heavy makeup
Overall, this is an OK product but it hasn't left an impression on me and I doubt it will do on you. I enjoy the cleansing properties of it, but I dislike the amount of fragrance it brings along. Fragrance isn't good for your skin and a dry feeling after usage is never a good sign. I will continue to use this untill I run out but I won't repurchase it.

Product Praise Clarins Sun Eye Contour Care SPF30
Sunscreens are really important to me, especially regarding my history of acne scarring and pigmentation. Now these things are more or less under control but still I value sunscreens highly and so should everyone. Protecting your skin against the sun should be major priority. And todays product will help you do that!
I ran into this product while I was desperately seeking an eye cream with SPF - try and search them, sadly, you won't find many. Today it's all about protecting your face against the sun, but no one seems to mention your eyes, in case you didn't know they are a part of your face and need even more protection due to the thin skin around them. And using my face sunscreen in my eye area isn't an option, it works irritating. Most eye SPFs are based around 15, which is a good number in winter but in the summer this isn't sufficient. And that's when I came across this one by Clarins, SPF of 30 - yes please!

This product is available in various shops and also online, for 20ml you pay around 25euros. A decent price but not too much. The packaging is typically sunscreenlike with the orange top and the little sun on it. The top is flat so you can put it up straight if that's what you prefer. The fact that it's a tube makes me love the packaging even more. It's really easy to dispense the right amount of product you need. The product itself is white and quite runny. A point of negative is the scent, which is very strong and typically sunscreenscent because of the great amount of titanium dioxide in it. On the other hand I'm glad they didn't put in a whole bunch of fragrance to cover this up so I can live with the sunscreenscent - the product is fragrance-free.
Because the product is quite runny it's easy to distribute and it sinks in fast. At first when spreading the product it seems that a white cast will remain visible but this cast disappears soon and in the end the product sinks in fast leaving a smooth canvas, not noticeable that you've put sunscreen on.
I've been using this product for about half a year and I think I'm about halfway or 2/3 through my tube. In the beginning I tried using it on its own but my eye area is too dry and this isn't moisturizing enough. So now I first use a bit of regular eye cream, pat it on and let it sink in, afterwards I put this on top and my eye area is satisfied and hydrated. I wear contacts so to me it's really important that eye creams do not irritate in any way, luckily this one doesn't sting at all and I never had problems using it. I've been wearing this on hot sunny days and didn't get sunburned (I've also use it on my lower eye area and my nose to test its sunburnresistance). In regards to its claim, yes this product prevents fine lines and wrinkles like any sunscreen product for that matter - since the sun is wrinkle enemy number one - but you have to be consistent in usage when on holiday or on the beach or on a hot sunny outdoor day, reapplication is needed.
The goods: tube packaging, price is ok, decent SPF, doesn't sting/irritate, sinks in fast (no white cast), fragrance-free
The bads: sunscreen scent, not moisturizing enough for dry skin to be used alone
To sum it up: this is a very very good product. It's the best SPF protection I've come across that can be used on your eye area and therefore it deserves this praise. There are a few minor discomforts on this product but the pros outweigh the cons with this one. I truly recommend this and myself, I will continue to use and repurchase this!

Review Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector in Rose shimmer
I bought this product about a year ago, used it a couple of times and then it ended up in my drawer in a little corner. A few weeks ago I ran into it again and couldn't remember why I stopped using it? So Clarins Instant Light Perfector or - being French - Eclat Minute Embellisseur Teint made a re-entry in my daily routine...

Dispensing goes easily and what you see underneath is about one pump. It's a light babypinkish colour that spreads easily, it's just like a lotion but a bit greasier. The fragrance is strongly present as a floral scent and roses, for me it's a bit too much... but I'm sure a lot of people will love it. I'm not the biggest fan of putting heavily fragranced products on my skin as it can be irritating.
As you can see underneath it sinks in quite fast and doesn't leave any cast behind. Afterwards you may be aware of a slight shimmer but it's hardly noticeable, especially when you'll be using a finishing powder afterwards. So as far as highlighting goes, this product doesn't make the cut. But, then again, that isn't its intention. This product is meant to even out your complexion? It does make my skin soft and leaves a nice base for makeup, maybe a tiny bit of diminishing of pores and fine lines but nothing major. Evening out - not really... Then, what is it any good at? I've tried it with several purposes and the best one is the one of primer... I use about 1,5 pump for my entire face, providing a good base and at the end of the day my makeup is still very present and hasn't been worn out. It gives your foundation a more dewy look and if you have dry skin a more greasy primer like this one is recommendable.
The goods: good primer, sinks in fast, lovely scent
The bads: strong scent, maybe a bit pricey, doesn't even out your complexion
Overall this is a decent product when used as a face primer, but there are equally good and probably even better ones available in this pricerange. I will continue and enjoy using this untill I finish it, but I won't repurchase it. It doesn't wow me, but it isn't bad either... your call whether you want to give it a shot!
